Tax Institute celebrates: 75 years of shaping the industry

Publication date: 16 Jul 18 | Source: THE TAX INSTITUTE

SYDNEY, 16 July 2018:  Today, The Tax Institute celebrated 75 years since its inception.

In 1943, founders’ Messrs Harold Irving and Monty Orr created what was then known as the Taxation Institute of Australia with the goal of improving tax law, reducing compliance costs, and fashioning a tax system that would increase the prosperity of Australia.

As we reflect on the past 75 years, we are now on the cusp of a new era in the tax profession with the rise of digitisation. We are more committed than ever to advocating on behalf of our members and leading improvements in our tax system.

“We’re proud of our heritage, and committed to supporting our diverse membership”, says President, Tracey Rens.

“We’re also committed to the future of the tax profession, to investing and supporting our leaders of tomorrow and helping them shape the future”.

“We’re committed to nurturing, developing and advocating for our members”.

We would like to thank our members for supporting The Tax Institute over the years, and for their tireless contributions.

“We have to pioneer the leadership of tomorrow, that is our role and that is what we are committed to doing.”
