Tax Institute hosts roundtable discussion with Federal Treasurer in Adelaide

28 APRIL 2015:   The Tax Institute hosted a roundtable discussion with the Federal Treasurer, the Hon Joe Hockey MP, and senior members of the Treasurer’s Tax White Paper Unit, Chief of Staff Robert Jeremenko and Senior Adviser Sasha Grebe, in Adelaide today to discuss the Government’s Tax Discussion Paper. 

Members of the Institute appreciated the opportunity to provide feedback to the Treasurer on the recently released Discussion Paper, and re-emphasised the Institute’s position of advocating for holistic reform of the tax system.

Stephen Healey, President of The Tax Institute said, “We thank the Treasurer for once again taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with our members and take on board their important contributions to the Tax White Paper process”.

Tax Institute members will again have the opportunity to meet with senior members of the Treasurer’s Tax White Paper Unit in Sydney this Friday. Further roundtable events will be held around the country in the coming weeks.

Our close involvement in the unfolding changes to the tax system has also informed the development of the Corporate Tax subject by leading practitioner members in this area. The subject will be released on 1 July 2015 and anticipates the future education needs of the tax profession.
